Building Your First Game
It's time to combine everything we've learned about Parts, Properties, and the Explorer to build a playable mini-obby.
The SpawnLocation
When you hit play, your character spawns in the middle of the world. To control this, go to the Model tab and click the Spawn button. This places a SpawnLocation part. Whenever you hit Play, your character will now spawn directly on top of this block.
Building the Obstacles
Create a series of jumping platforms. Use the Scale tool to make them different sizes. To make it challenging, try placing them further apart or higher up.
Adding a Finish Line
Create a large platform at the end of your jumps. Use the Properties window to change its Material to Neon and its Color to bright green. This visually signals to the player that they have won.
Playtesting
Go to the Home tab and click the large blue Play button. Your avatar will spawn in, and you can test your jumps. If a jump is impossible, press Stop (the red square), adjust the parts, and try again.
Congratulations! You've just created a functional environment. Now, it's time to learn how to make it interactive using code.
